I would like to tell a frightening paranormal event I experienced before. Under normal circumstances, I never tell it but I feel the need to tell young people, who are very curious about these events, as a lesson. They say curiosity kills the cat. Excessive curiosity is not a good thing. I’m 25 now. However, I was 20 years old when I experienced the event I’m going to tell. It seems like people in those ages can be quite bold due to ignorance. 5 years makes a person mature. I learned it this year.

Haunted Vineyard House

True Horror Stories – As a friend group of 4-5 people, we visited the vineyard house, which belongs to the father of one of our friends. It was summer and the weather was nice. It was almost evening when we arrived at the vineyard house. This was because we hit the road late. After all, we were planning to spend the night there. Meanwhile, I would like to note that none of us used any alcohol or any substance during these. There was another house about 100-150 meters away from our house. It was a ruined house with no one living in it and located on the mountainside. It was a completely abandoned and forgotten property…

While we were enjoying our tea on the porch, suddenly, the lights of this dark house turned on! We were far away from the city. It was impossible that homeless punks or junkies would be living in that house. Also, as far as we know, no electricity was provided to that house since no one was living in it. Even we were supplying electricity with a generator since there was no permanent residence in our house. Imagine what a place it is…

Although it was a mysterious event, what was frightening was not the sudden turn-on of the lights in that house. It was the thing that was looking at us from the window… It was looking like a human but without any exaggeration, his arms were one meter long. He had a small head with quite wide ears but he was short. He was staring at us without taking his eyes off. When we noticed it, we started to look at each other in silence. However, everyone already understood that it was one of them (djinn). None of us reacted suddenly or unusually since we didn’t want to scare or panic each other.

The man was hitting his face and watching us. From time to time, he was looking right and left and then start to stare at us again. They were all remarkably strange and meaningless actions… As I said, we all tried to keep our silence as we promised to each other. However, I was frozen. I almost lost consciousness due to fear. That creature made a strange sound suddenly. It was like he was calling us. Suddenly, everyone got up in fear and panic. We went to the car quickly and drove away from there at full speed. No one talked to anyone along the way too…

As I said at the beginning of my story, people have some kind of crazy courage due to ignorance in those ages. In the morning we gathered with our friends. We talked about what we experienced the night before. As a result, we also called our friend, which his nickname is hodja since he knows more than us in religious matters. In the evening, we went to that house together again. However, it was around 10 PM this time. Our goal was to drive the djinns away as if it was our duty.

Our friend, hodja, started to recite prayers there. There was also a dog next to us at that moment. The dog started to howl bitterly. Then, that creature appeared at the window again. However, this time everyone was almost paralyzed. The hodja was the first one who ran away and we followed him. The dog was running with us too. We entered the car but it didn’t start. We pressed the pedals again but this time, our friend forgot the handbrake. The dog also started to howl like a human. We started to run away, and you can burst into tears if you would see us. I wish God will not let anyone experience such an event like this.

The one we called hodja was about to faint. We left him at his house and he ran into the building. We were in the city center but we were still afraid. Our family elders, whom we told our stories, found a real hodja, who is experienced in these events and he treated us with his breath. ^[2]Treating with breath: It is the process of reading some verses in the Quran and healing prayers next to the person to protect him from the evil eye, djinns, etc. . Later on, those creatures left us alone… Otherwise, they would take us away that day…

The reason why we were haunted was that we left leftovers and embers and urinated on them. We learned that leftovers are the food of djinns and things such as embers and pouring water hurt djinns.
